Karen Kenney

Karen Kenney Karen Kenney received her B.S. from East Tennessee State University, magna cum laude, in 1991. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Delta (English Honor Society), and received the Faculty Award for 1991.

She attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2009. While attending the University of Tennessee, Karen received several honors, including the Dean’s List, Academic Excellence in Trial Practice, 2007, Academic Excellence in Interviewing and Counseling 2008, and Outstanding Pro Bono Service, 2009. She worked in several clinical programs including the Advocacy Clinic, an Externship with the Community Law Office, and the Domestic Violence Clinic.

Karen joined The Oberman Law Firm in 2009. Her areas of practice are criminal defense, with an emphasis on alcohol and/or driving-related cases. In addition to working on criminal defense cases, Karen assists Steve Oberman and Sara Compher-Rice in editing Mr. Oberman’s books, DUI: The Crime and Consequences in Tennessee and Drunk Driving Defense.
